Unconditional Love

Hi All,

I decided to post more on the topic of love, except this time, I'd like to concentrate on the love we experience for, and from, our beloved pets.

My family lost our beloved beagle, Flip, sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.  She died very suddenly and very tragically, and my entire family have been left heart-broken by her sudden loss.  We miss her amusing antics, her bouncy persona and her loving disposition.  She was the queen of the hill, and did she ever know it!  She was spoiled by her people, and has left us with so many wonderful memories to treasure.

One of my favorite stories to tell about Flip is how, during the Winter months, when we always had a fire going and a large wood pile stacked up under our kitchen window, Flip use to climb up on the wood pile and gaze through the window at us, or survey her entire domain from up there.  We were always scared she'd fall off and break her neck or her back, but she never did, fortunately.  I regret that there aren't any pictures of her up there, as that'd really be something to treasure down the road.  But we'll always have that sweet little memory, and we'll always treasure Flip in our hearts.

Our pets bring us such unconditional, unreserved love.  When we lose them so unexpectedly, our sadness can be incredibly great.  But eventually, we'll be able to replace some of that sadness and grief with laughter and our treasured remembrances.  Our pets would want us to be happy, and keep our hearts forever open and loving, as they always kept their hearts so open and loving for us.  If you, or someone you love, is also experiencing the loss of a beloved animal friend, I encourage you to treasure the time you spent together and hold your pet close to your heart always.  I firmly believe that someday, we'll see our beloved ones, people and animals, again.

Because Flip's passing was so sudden and tragic, it left me feeling a bit overwhelmed, and I wanted to memorialize her in some special way, for all she'd given me.  You can see my memorial to her, and post your own, for free, at:

In Love,
Kim
